Point of Action
- Choose any goal that you have wanted to do, but thought you couldn't. It can be as simple as learning how to swim to studying how to play a musical instrument to singing in front of an audience—basically anything that makes your heart sing and your head spin!
- Make a list of action steps you could potentially take towards this goal, everything down to the smallest detail. For example, if your goal is to sing in front of an audience, some action steps could be humming every day, taking music lessons, listening to your favorite music, choosing a song, receive inspiration from other singers, to looking at places you could sing and booking it!
- Make a commitment to yourself. Sometimes it is so easy for us to commit our time to an appointment or event for someone else, now its time to take the same level of commitment towards yourself. Find ways to make it more difficult to back out than to move forward, such as investing money, time, and/or even writing a contract with yourself to keep this agreement.
- Don’t be afraid to be afraid. Fear always comes up. Fear is what has prevented us from doing the things that are most heartfelt. Courage is stepping forward to face our fear. When the fear does come up, just breath, be present, and refer to the quote below for encouragement.
- Take action and celebrate! You could think about it, you could ponder it, you could wish for it. Instead, "Just do it!", and have fun celebrating your accomplishment. From now on you will know from experience that you can do anything!
